DENTAL IMPLANTS
Dental implants are your go to solution if you want to replace missing teeth, or are looking for a fixed alternative to removable partial or complete dentures.
Providing excellent support and stability, dental implants are typically titanium replicas of teeth and roots which are surgically placed into the upper or lower jaw bone. Dental implants are strong, durable, and are expected to have a high success rate, and are so natural looking that they often enhance or restore a patient’s smile.
The process of getting implants requires a number of visits over several months.
Over those visits, 3D scanning, world class computer guidance technology and x-rays are taken of the jaw and teeth to determine bone, gum tissue, and spacing available for an implant. Then, after numbing the area the implant will be surgically placed into the bone and allowed to heal. Over 3-4 months of the healing process, the implant is expected to establish and integrate itself. Depending on the type of implant, a second surgery may be required in order to place the “post” that will hold the artificial tooth in place. With other implants, the post and anchor are already attached and placed at the same time.
Dental Implant Options
-
SINGLE IMPLANT
When a patient has a single tooth missing, a single cosmetic dental implant is the best option. The dental implants are applied in two parts. First, a titanium post is inserted into the gum to replace the missing root to give the implanted tooth support and strength. A crown or denture is then placed on the post to replace the missing tooth and complete your smile.
-
ALL ON IMPLANTS
Otherwise known as a full jaw of implants, all on implants are the choice of dental implants in cases of advanced decay, disease or if the patient has the majority of teeth missing. The All on arch Dental implants are a permanent dental implant solution, designed to be an alternative to full teeth dentures and ar attached to four or more dental posts for full support.
-
MULTIPLE DENTAL IMPLANTS
Following the same method as single implants, multiple implants can be inserted to replace one or more teeth in between healthy, natural teeth. Replacing these missing teeth can alleviate any discomfort or difficult you have with eating, and renew your confidence in your smile.
After Your Dental Implant Procedure
After a period of healing, the artificial teeth are made and fitted to the post portion of the anchor that had been previously implanted. Because several fittings may be required, this step may take one to two months to complete. Then, once healed, the artificial teeth are securely attached to the implant, providing excellent stability and comfort to the patient.
You will receive care instructions when your treatment is completed. Good oral hygiene and eating habits, alongside regular dental visits, will aid in the life of your new implant.
